Yasakarï Productions ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how the Tukusi mobile application ("the App") handles information when you use our service.

The App is created as a gift for the Carib community. It is designed to help adults learn to read and improve their reading skills in the Carib language.

2. Information We DO NOT Collect

Tukusi is designed to be privacy-first. We explicitly do NOT collect:

• Personal identification information (name, email, phone number)
• Location data or GPS coordinates
• Device identifiers (IMEI, MAC address, etc.)
• Contact lists or address books
• Photos, videos, or camera access
• Microphone recordings
• Browsing history or app usage data
• IP addresses or network information
• Payment information (the app is completely free)
• Any other personally identifiable information

3. Information Stored Locally on Your Device

The App stores the following information locally on your device only:

3.1 Learning Progress

• Carib Words and Syllables
• Game scores and achievements
• Progress through difficulty levels
• Personal high scores

3.2 App Preferences

• Language preference (English or Carib)
• Theme selection (light or dark mode)
• Text size preferences
• Notification settings
• Audio preferences

3.3 Downloaded Content

• Audio files for word pronunciations (cached for offline use)
• Language learning content (words, syllables)

Important: All of this data is stored exclusively on your device using secure local storage (SQLite database and SharedPreferences). We have no access to this information, and it never leaves your device.

4. Optional Features

4.1 Notifications

The App uses local notifications to remind you to practice:

• Weekly practice reminders (Saturdays at 2:00 PM)
• Inactivity reminders (after 5 days of no use)
• All notifications are generated locally on your device
• No data is sent to external servers for notifications
• You can disable notifications at any time in Settings

5. Third-Party Services

5.1 No Other Third-Party Services

The App does NOT use:

• Advertising networks
• Social media integrations
• Crash reporting services (in current version)

6. Permissions Explained

The App requests the following Android permissions:

6.1 Internet Permission

• Purpose: Download audio files and learning content
• Usage: Only when you choose to download content
• Note: The app works fully offline once content is downloaded

6.2 Notifications Permission

• Purpose: Send practice reminders
• Usage: Local notifications only, no external servers
• Control: Can be disabled in Android settings or app settings

6.3 Storage Permission

• Purpose: Cache audio files for offline use
• Usage: Only for app-specific storage, no access to your personal files

6.4 Wake Lock Permission

• Purpose: Keep audio playing during learning sessions
• Usage: Only active while you're using the app

7. User's Privacy

The App is safe for users of all ages:

• We do not collect any data from anyone
• No account creation or registration required
• No user-generated content features
• No chat, messaging, or social features
• No links to external websites or apps
• Complies with COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act)

8. Data Security

We take data security seriously:

• All local data is encrypted using industry-standard encryption
• The App uses secure connections (HTTPS) when downloading content
• No authentication tokens or passwords are stored
• Data is isolated to the app's private storage area

9. Data Retention and Deletion

Local data:

• Data remains on your device until you uninstall the app
• Uninstalling the app permanently deletes all local data
• You can manually clear data from Android Settings → Apps → Tukusi → Storage

10. Your Rights

Because we don't collect personal data, there's limited applicability of data rights. However:

• Right to Access: All your data is accessible to you in the app
• Right to Deletion: Simply uninstall the app or clear app data
• Right to Object: Don't enable optional features if you prefer not to use them
• Right to Data Portability: Currently not applicable as data stays local

11. International Users

The App is available worldwide:

• We do not collect location data, so geographic restrictions don't apply
• If cloud sync is enabled, data is stored in Firebase servers (may be in any region)
• We comply with GDPR for European users
• We comply with CCPA for California residents

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time:

• Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date
• Material changes will be notified through in-app announcement
• Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance
